Single-A Baseball Summerball25 (Sandlot)

We're excited to welcome families to Single-A baseball this summer! Below are the key details for this division:

  • Games will be sandlot1 format, giving maximum flexibility to players and coaches over the summer
  • For players with experience in Coach Pitch or Single-A only (not directly from T-ball)
  • Parent volunteers needed — all experience levels welcome! (See Side Bar)
  • See matrix below for more details on day, time, and locations

Please reach out to Olin Wick with questions.

1 Sandlot format means kids show up and teams are picked based on who is present and ready to play. This creates a flexible, drop-in environment with no commitment to a specific team, allowing families to participate as their schedules permit.

Softball Summerball25 (Sandlot)

We're excited to welcome our Softball families to Summerball25! For 2025, we're offering a two-tiered program designed to accommodate a range of ages and skill levels. Please review the following information:

  • Games will be sandlot1 format, bringing maximum flexibility to players and coaches over the summer
  • AA/AAA Softball is for developing AAA players and AA graduates
  • AAA/Majors Softball is for experienced AAA players and returning Majors players
  • Potential interleague play opportunities with neighboring leagues
  • Volunteer coaches needed — all are welcome to help! (See Side Bar)
  • See matrix below for more details on day, time, and locations

If you have questions or need help determining the right division for your player, please contact Gayle Perez.

AA/AAA/MAJORS/JUNIORS Baseball Summerball25 (Interleague)

We're excited to welcome AA, AAA, Majors, and Juniors families to Summerball25! See below for important program information:

  • Traditional organized baseball program with set teams and regular game schedules
  • Games will be interleague1 play, meaning competitive play against neighboring little leagues
  • Players are encouraged to play up to the level they'll play next year2
  • AA Baseball may have a hybrid mix of sandlot and interleague
  • Volunteer coaches needed — all are welcome to help! (See Side Bar)
  • See matrix below for more details on day, time, and locations

For questions or additional information, please contact Paul Fox.

1 Interleague refers to games played against teams from neighboring little leagues such as Ballard, Magnolia, North Central, Northeast, Northwest, Queen Anne, RUG, Shoreline, and North-End (NBLL).

Why Play Up in Summerball25?

We encourage kids to move up a division in Summerball25 if they will be moving up NEXT season for three key reasons:

  1. Better Competition – Local leagues (Ballard, Magnolia, Queen Anne, Shoreline, and more) have agreed to align divisions based on where players will be in Spring of '26, creating balanced teams.
  2. Low-Stakes, High-Growth – With All-Stars out playing tournaments, it's the perfect time to safely adjust, take on new challenges, and build confidence in the new division.
  3. Head Start for Spring 2026 – Getting early reps at the next level helps players settle in and succeed when the regular season begins.

The matrix below provides guidance on selecting the appropriate Summerball25 division, but the answer may come easier by asking yourself this question — where will my player play next year? If there is even a chance, then give it a go1!

Summerball25 VOLUNTEER Roles

NCLL Summerball 2025 Volunteers

We Need Your Help to Make Summerball25 a Success!

Lead Game Volunteer (Head Coach): Be a key presence at games. Responsibilities include bringing team gear, helping with setup, ensuring safety, and handling any unusual situations. Especially needed for Majors and Teen Baseball. Advanced players can help coach bases (with a helmet).

Game Day Helper (Assistant Coach): Provide on-field support—dugout manager, base coach, umpire, or parent pitcher (for AA). Especially needed for AA/AAA Baseball and Softball Sandlot. AAA players may help coach bases (with supervision).

Team Manager (Off-Field Support & Logistics): Organize RSVPs, coordinate snacks, and help communicate with families. Great for those who prefer non-coaching roles. Keeps everyone informed and organized.

Sandlot Team Organizer (A-Baseball Sandlot): Work with other parents to organize players, balance teams, maintain a fun atmosphere, and oversee safety. This collaborative role is key to the flexible, "show up and play" sandlot style.
