FAQ's
Q: Am I registering for the right Little League?
A: For Summerball, anyone is welcome — league boundary rules do not apply. Players from any
neighborhood can join NCLL for the summer program. If you played spring ball with another league,
you're still eligible to register with NCLL for Summerball.
Q: What are the dates of the season?
A: Registration is open June 6—June 30. The season runs July 6 through August 14
(approximately six weeks, 10–12 games per team). Team assignments go out approximately
June 30–July 4 via Sports Connect email. See the
events page
for confirmed dates.
Q: How much does it cost?
A: $75 per player. Show up for the weeks you can and vacation when you can't — there's no
penalty for missing games. Scholarships are available by request prior to registration via the
financial aid request form.
Q: What division should my player register for?
A: The best question to ask: what division will my player be in next spring? — then there is your answer!
Playing up a level is encouraged for older or more experienced players. See the
division guidance table
on the main Summerball page for a full breakdown.
Q: How often do we play?
A: No scheduled practices. Each team plays approximately two evening games per week — roughly
10–12 games total over six weeks.
Q: What if we miss games?
A: No attendance requirement — come when you can, skip when you can't. That flexibility is part
of what makes Summerball work. Just give your team manager or coach a heads-up when you know you'll be out.
Q: What is “sandlot” format?
A: Sandlot divisions (Single-A Baseball, Softball) mean kids show up to the field and teams are
formed from whoever is present and ready to play. There's no fixed team roster and no commitment to a
specific group — families can come and go as their summer schedules allow.
Q: What is “interleague”?
A: Interleague divisions (AA through Juniors Baseball) play scheduled games against teams from other
Seattle-area Little League programs. Your player will have a fixed roster and play roughly half their
games at home fields and half away — seldom more than a 30-minute drive.
Q: What happens if a game is rained out?
A: Cancellations are announced via GameChanger as early as possible — usually by late afternoon
on game day. We make every effort to reschedule rained-out games, but not all can be made up within the
season window. Check GameChanger for the latest updates.
Q: Where do we play?
A: NCLL's home fields are Lower Woodland Park Ball Fields and Ross Park Fields. When playing
interleague games, we travel to fields around the city — seldom more than a 30-minute drive. The
anticipated weeknight schedule
on the main Summerball page shows which nights each division typically plays, the fields most commonly
used (with a breakdown of every field from 2025), and start times. The weeknight columns show how many
district games were scheduled on each night — higher numbers mean that night is busier for your
division, which is a good proxy for when your games are most likely to fall.
Q: What equipment and uniforms are provided?
A: A game jersey is included in the registration fee. Wear your spring season cap. Your player will
need a baseball glove, a protective cup (recommended for boys), and footwear (cleats are not required
— sneakers are fine). Personal bats and helmets are welcome if they meet Little League standards;
shared equipment is available.
Q: Can my player play up or down a division?
A: Playing up is encouraged for older or more experienced players — Summerball is a great
low-stakes environment to take on a new challenge. Playing down is less common but can be arranged.
Contact [email protected]
before or after registration to discuss.
Q: Can I request to be on the same team as a friend?
A: Yes — there's a field in the registration form to note a teammate request. We honor these
when we can, though we can't guarantee placements in smaller divisions.
Q: When will we know our team and schedule?
A: Team assignments go out approximately June 30–July 4 via Sports Connect email. The
transition from the regular season to Summerball is fast — often managed by the same volunteers
who just finished the regular season and All-Stars. We appreciate your patience!
Q: How do I volunteer?
A: You can indicate your interest when registering and select a role at that time. We're especially
looking for Lead Game Volunteers, Game Day Helpers, Team Managers, and Sandlot Team Organizers. Even if
you can only help with a few games, every bit counts. See the
volunteer opportunities page
for details, or check the sidebar on the main Summerball page.
Q: Who do I contact with questions?
A: Contact the Summerball coordinator at
[email protected]
or the registrar at
[email protected].
