WHAT TO EXPECT

If you apply to the all stars team, you are expected to clear your schedule and commit to attendance at most practices and ALL games for the period of June 1 through July 19 for the District tournament, and beyond if your  team goes to State tournaments.  All-Stars Tournaments are double elimination.  The commitment ends when the team has lost two games.  The team who wins District 8 goes on to State.  In 2022 only Winners of Washington State Majors (U12), Juniors (U13), and Seniors (U16) will go on to play in Regional and World Series tournaments.

Players will attend tryouts and teams will be announced shortly after.  Practices are coach discretion but will likely be 4-5 events per week leading up to the tournament, including practices, special instruction and scrimmages or tournaments.  This intensive period of player development will benefit your player immensely.

Eligibility Requirements

There are very specific eligibility requirements to play in All Stars.

  1. Established residency in North Central Little League boundaries by either address or school address.  This link describes the ways to establish residency.  Waivers for residency must be established a year prior to eligibility for All Stars.
  2. Original birth certificate must be presented to the District 8 officials to demonstrate proof of age.
  3.  In all divisions, any eligible player must participate in at least 8 regular season games in their district (or at least 6 for Seniors division).

What to Expect

North Central Little League’s All-Stars teams are an exciting opportunity for the top players to compete in tournaments against other Little Leagues in the same age division.  It is exciting and players get as much, if not more, baseball instruction as they did in the regular season.

Each league can assemble only one All-Stars team in each of the divisions that tournaments are offered.  For 60’ diamond divisions, they are broken down by league playing age 8/9/10, 9/10/11, and 11/12.   Our league’s priority is to put the most competitive team on the field in each division. Since there are normally more applicants than spots, it may be necessary to cut some players.

Time Commitment:  All-Stars is more intense than the regular season.
  • Practices begin in late May. The players will be required to be at most practices and ALL games.  Teams will prepare with practices, instruction, and scrimmages, with Baseball having up to 5 events per week and Softball at 3 events per week.  Some teams may decided to attend a warm-up tournament.
  • The District 8 double-elimination tournament plays locally in late June to mid-July.
  • The winner for each division moves to the State competitions that will run for 2 weeks following the end of D8.
  • For the 12U team and teenage divisions, teams can move onto play in Regionals and to the Little League World Series in late August. Side note – most NCLL teams don’t win District 8 championship.
Cost:
  • There is no registration fee for All Stars. We want to make this as accessible as possible for our players.
  • We will implement a uniform fee. Scholarship/financial aid are available. We may also run fundraisers to support this.
  • Warm up tournaments may incur separate fees, and are separate from league activities.
  • Winning teams that need to travel to Regional tournaments will be supported by additional fundraising events.
